The community stagnates without the impulse of the individual. The impulse dies away without the sympathy of the community. By William James.
Today is a big day for us. We began this project with Cleveland in mind, not sure what to expect. But when we threw the concept out into the city–into Cleveland’s collective imagination–the response we received: it was ferocious, hungry for a chance to scream something other than “we are dead” or “we are dying”. We are not dead. We are weathered. We are exposed. In many ways that is the best way to be.
Thank you Cleveland for making this happen. Thank you Rust Belt for instilling in this Rust Belt community the character that allows us to keep going.
Alright, lets rock this.
